MuckClient

MuckClient is a program designed to play MUCKs and other text-based online games. MUCK is a version of MUD, a Multi-User dungeon which is a text-based online role-playing game.

MUCK is less combat-oriented and more about social interaction . MuckClient is a free application, that really improves the playing experience. Playing with Telnet was not always fun as there were some limitations; that is because it was designed to perform some other functions. With MuckClient you are right in the MU* playing environment, and you have a lot of features that will help you. The main one is the multiple screens feature: you can log into different servers, or with different characters in a seamless and simultaneous way. You can have aliases, macros and gags. There is also an option to output the game text into a text file to read later. It may lack the options some other clients have, but it is free. The only problem is that it struggles with combat-oriented MUDs, because the multiple lines sometimes come too fast for the client. Other than that, this free client is excellent.
